August 22, 2016
Tune in.
Even with all the homework and extracurricular activities, many students still find time to sit down and watch TV. Here are some shows to look forward to this fall.
The Voice starts its 11th season on NBC on Sept. 19th. This singing competition will feature returning judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine and new judges Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. Watch as the judges turn unrecognized artists into singing sensations.
Also on NBC, This is Us premieres on Sept. 20. The show displays the ups and downs of everyday life, following the lives of average people and the connections they build as the season goes on. Jane the Virgin makes its comeback on Oct. 17 as well.
The Good Place on NBC, starring Kristen Bell, premieres on Sept. 19 and follows a character’s journey in the afterlife. After being put into heaven by mistake, she decides that going to the “bad place” isn’t an option, so she decides to try and become a better person.
The zombies are back on Oct. 21 as The Walking Dead returns to AMC with the first segment of the two part season. The parts will have eight episodes each, but the second segment won’t air until 2017. The show’s many fans are looking forward to this upcoming season. Jack Coldwell, junior, says, “I am excited for the next season of The Walking Dead. I’ve kept up with all the seasons.”
But Evanston students aren’t all about screen time.
“Honestly, I don’t really know too much about TV,” says Emma Kaplan, freshman. Students are often so busy with all the activities, clubs and sports around the school that they don’t always have time for TV. But that doesn’t mean we can’t take a break and enjoy a show sometimes.
