Julie Colwell
Wellness and P.E. teacher Julie Colwell has done it all at ETHS and now she’s ready to move on to the next chapter in her life.
“Now that I’m teaching my ex-students kids I’ve realized it’s time to go,” said Colwell.
Colwell has taught Wellness her entire career at ETHS. Additionally, she started the Sports Officiating P.E. class in 2003, which is the only sports officiating class in the country.
Outside of school, Colwell referees for boys and girls volleyball, girls basketball and she umpires for slow pitch softball. She has refereed for nine state tournaments and has traveled all over the country. The most memorable game she refereed was a slow pitch softball game of the Secret Service against the White House staff.
Along with teaching and refereeing, Colwell coached at ETHS for 20 years. She coached softball for 20 years, swimming for eight years, girls golf for eight years and girls basketball for two years.
As she moves on, Colwell will miss the ETHS community.
“The people are like family. I’ll travel from East coast to West coast I always run into somebody,” she said.
