Annual Sneaker Exchange welcomes Sneakerheads

A student looks through the selection at last year’s Sneaker Exchange.

Members of the Club Éxito/Success Club program will host their annual Sneaker Exchange fundraiser event on Saturday, Feb. 20, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Levy Center located at 300 Dodge Avenue in Evanston.

The Evanston Sneaker Exchange provides a safe space for entrepreneurs of all ages to buy, sell and trade collectors’ items of Nike, Adidas and Reebok brand shoes. The Sneakerhead phenomenon dates back to Michael Jordan’s first line of Air Jordan shoes debuting in 1985.

Evanston Sneaker Exchange III plans to welcome more attendees than past years at the Levy Center’s spacious Maple Room. Shoe vendors and attendees will enjoy the music provided by DJ J Spade. Admission is $7 or $5 for ages 13 and up with school ID. Children under 5 accompanied by adults are free.

Club Éxito is a no fee positive youth development program for students in grades 9-12. Through its curriculum model of introducing students to business management experiences, leadership training opportunities and working relationships with adult professionals, student members develop their ideas into fundraising projects and events.
