On average, people stop believing in Santa Claus at only nine years old. They think it is irrational to claim that one Holly Jolly man can fly through the sky, giving gifts to children worldwide. In this article, however, we will debunk the myths and confirm that Santa is real by answering your false claims!
“I’m Jewish.” -Freshman Lev Mordka
That’s fair.
“Santa Claus living forever goes against the natural human lifespan, making him unrealistic.” -Freshman Seneca Lyonsmith
That’s true, a human is born with only so many hours of their life. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t gain any, and that’s Santa’s secret. Each day, Saint Nick drinks 5 bottles of 5-hour energy, giving him an extra hour of energy a day. This allows him to live for extra days, giving him more time to drink 5-hour energy. By drinking enough 5-hour energy, Santa is now able to live forever.
“I don’t believe in Santa because he’s so creepy. I don’t want someone watching me every second!” -Anonymous sophomore
Okay, so someone spends a lot of time in the North 2nd bathroom.
“Santa would have to travel almost 3,000,000 miles per hour to deliver all of the presents. How is that possible?” -Freshman Ryan McComb
Have you ever seen the documentary The Polar Express? If so, you will notice the thousands of elves Santa has! Once all of the toy-making is done, do you think they take a break? No, they’re elves—they don’t know any better. That’s why many hop on to Santa’s sleigh and help deliver presents! However, even with all of those elves, that is still hundreds of millions of homes to get to! How could Santa still pull off such a feat year after year? Well, just ask those who raised you.
“I saw my parents put the presents underneath the tree. How could I possibly believe in Santa now?” -Sophomore Ben Brown
This is an intriguing thought, but those who think about this scenario and believe this means Santa isn’t real are mistaken. Your parents and Santa have a secret yet strong bond, believe it or not, and Santa needs all the help he can get to deliver the presents on time. Therefore, he calls your parents and ships the gifts to them through a service called “Amazon Prime,” and your parents put the presents under the tree for him. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Throughout this article so far, people have denied the existence of the man in a red coat who delivers presents with reindeer in a flying sleigh. However, senior Danny O’Connor gave a very intriguing idea. “While there may not be an actual man from the North Pole delivering presents around the world, I believe that Santa is real through the spirit of Christmas, and through that spirit emerges joy, selflessness, and compassion.” Brown also had an interesting thought to add: “Santa Claus may not be real, but he is a symbolic figure of humanity. If we all loved each other and gave to one another as Santa Claus does to us, we would be living on a better planet, creating a better tomorrow.”
Maybe Father Christmas is not a holly jolly soul, but ourselves instead. On that note, how will you be Santa Claus this holiday season and spread the joy of the Holiday spirit to the world?
