About the Contributors
Ethan Ravi, Editor-in-Chief
Hi! My name is Ethan Ravi (he/him). I’m a senior, and this year I’m the Editor-in-Chief and the host of Competin'/Eatin' with Ethan. This is my fourth year on staff, previously I was the News Editor and Resident Food Critic (junior year), the Assistant News Editor (sophomore year), and a staff writer (freshman year). I love leading the Evanstonian because I get to work with our wonderful staff to tell important Evanston stories while pushing my creativity media-wise. Outside of the paper, I play tennis for the ETHS team, work at a local tennis shop, compete on the Math Team and participate in peer tutoring. In my free time, I enjoy reading, seeing friends and family, playing the piano and drinking coffee.
Sam Froum, Print Executive Editor
Hi, I’m Sam Froum (he/him), and I'm an Executive Print Editor. This is my fourth year on staff. Previously I was a staff writer, assistant editor of A&E and section editor of A&E and Photo/Art. I write for the Evanstonian because it helps me become a better writer and provides opportunities for collaboration with other students. At ETHS, I also run cross country and track and participate in Wildkit Buddies. Outside of school, I like to draw, run and watch TV.
Ryan Wambo, Managing Editor
Hi all! My name is Ryan Wambo (he/him). I am a senior at Evanston Township High School. I am also the managing editor and host of In Between The Lines. This is my second year on staff. Before my position change, I was a staff writer for the sports section. I love coming to the journalism room daily and bonding with editors and writers, not only as a publication team but as a family. There is nothing like informing the Evanston community in a fun and positive way! Outside of the paper, I play for ETHS's varsity football and lacrosse teams. My other responsibilities include working in the front of the house at my local bakery store. In my free time, I enjoy walks, hanging out with friends & family, and watching movies.
Isaac Peng, Opinion Editor
Hey everyone, it's Isaac! I am a senior here at ETHS and this is my second year on the Evanstonian. This year, I'm the editor of the opinion section. I am excited to work with various like-minded individuals on the Evanstonian and produce the best paper possible. Outside of the Evanstonian, I swim competitively year-round, and in my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, playing Spikeball, and hanging out with friends.
Will Klearman, Sports Co-Editor
Hey everyone! I’m Will Klearman (he/him) and this year I am the sports editor and also hold my own sports column "Keeping it Klear". I am a junior and this is my third year on staff. Previously, in addition to being on the sports staff, I worked in the opinion section where I wrote my infamous article, 'Normalize Dogs Out'. Being on The Evanstonian has been an amazing experience for me; throughout my three years on the paper, I have made many of my closest friends and have been welcomed into a truly vibrant community. Outside of the paper, I play tennis for the high school team and work at my synagogue. I love hanging out with friends, trying new food, and watching sports, particularly my Northwestern Wildcats.
Anthony LaRosa, Assistant A&E Editor
Hi! My name is Anthony LaRosa, and I am the school A&E editor for the 2024-2025 school year. I am a senior and this is my second year on staff; last year I was a staff writer for the A&E section. I love reporting on the many arts-related events that go on around ETHS, and I am committed to making sure that school events are sufficiently covered in the paper. Outside of the Evanstonian I run Track and Field, Cross Country and I participate in DECA.
Nate Greenwald, Staff Writer
Hello! My name is Nathan Greenwald (He, Him, His). I am a Junior at ETHS and this is my 2nd year on staff for The Evanstonian. In the past two years I have worked as a photographer, working my way through various sections of the paper. I take photos for The Evanstonian, because it provides a place for young people to share their perspectives with the very large community at ETHS. As a photographer, I can help display these certain ideas, events, and perspectives, through stopping time in those moments. Outside of The Evanstonian: I swim and play Water Polo for ETHS, play saxophone in the ETHS Jazz Band and Symphonic Band, and take part in a few other clubs as well. For work, I have been teaching Learn To Swim, and have been working at my synagogue; both are jobs I thoroughly enjoy. Outside of school, I enjoy Art, cooking, watching movies, hanging out with friends/family, and playing all different kinds of sports.
