The Kits are melting the winter ice.
It’s a great day to be a Wildkit, as Evanston’s sports teams continue performing at a high level and climbing the ranks.
Boys Basketball
This Evanston squad isn’t showing signs of slowing down anytime soon. The Kits sit at 23-4 (7-1) and are first in the CSL. Evanston has won its last five games and has climbed to No. 7 in the state, according to MaxPreps.
They will face conference opponent New Trier for the second time this year at Beardsley Gym on Feb. 9, 2025, at 7 p.m.

Seniors Brian Henry and Kenneth Coleman, along with junior Jeremy Marshall, are headed to sectionals!
Henry finished first at the Illinois High School Association Class 3A Maine South Regional tournament, earning a championship at 190 pounds.
Following in Henry’s footsteps, Coleman finished second at 175, while Marshall, a junior heavyweight, also placed second.
The three will compete in the Class 3A sectional at Barrington High School on Feb. 14-15 alongside two alternates: freshman Art Bytyqi and sophomore Diego Lopez.
Bytyqi finished fourth at 157, and Lopez placed fourth at 165.

The ‘GymnastKits’ have raised the ceiling and set a new standard for future ETHS gymnasts.
The Kits qualified their entire team, earning an at-large berth behind meet champion Palatine (138.15 points) with a season-high total of 134.825 points. They secured a spot in Tuesday’s sectional on Feb. 11 at Fremd High School, competing against Palatine, Conant, Glenbrook North, Barrington, and others.

The Kits girls bowling team is headed to sectionals! Evanston is taking its full team to the Hoffman Estates Sectional at Poplar Creek Lanes on Feb. 15.
The team placed third overall at the IHSA Schaumburg Regional, shooting a 5,115. Finishing ahead of the Kits were first-place Hersey (5,492) and second-place New Trier (5,227).
Senior Neva Whitcomb led Evanston with a 1,077 series. Trailing closely behind were Bridgette Bueltmann (1,071) and Nina Fischer (1,033).

Seniors Kennedy Murray (CSL All-Conference) and Jereni Marshall, along with junior Fatima Gomez, are headed to sectionals!
Murray finished second at 145, Marshall placed third at 235, and Gomez secured fourth at 190. The three will compete at the IHSA sectional at New Trier.
Final Push for State
Winter sports have given Kits supporters around Evanston an exciting season. These winter athletes have represented ETHS on the biggest stages, stamping not only their name but Evanston as a community in the record books.
