Adam Marquardt, In-Depth Editor

My name is Adam Marquardt and I’m a senior at ETHS. This is my second year writing opinion for the Evanstonian, and have also done some work in features this year. I am responsible for the controversial feature piece “Six Questions for a Drug Dealer” which was censored earlier this year. Journalism has given me the opportunity to write about politics in and outside of Evanston from a variety of angles which will serve me in future endeavors. I am the captain of Evanston’s policy debate team and hope to pursue a career in academic writing.

Third party candidates are no joke

Adam Marquardt, Opinion Writer October 28, 2016

American politics is dead. Democracy in this country must be revived by greater representation in politics for views that don’t perfectly align with the two principal establishment parties. American...

Stop blindly praising ETHS for its diversity

Adam Marquardt, Opinion Writer October 5, 2016

Stop blindly praising ETHS for its diversity. It is common practice for an Evanston resident, particularly white people, to gush about diversity, but this display of tolerance only masks the inequity...
