The stars come back.

As YAMO’s 60th anniversary rolls into town this October, so will many Evanston alumni, some being very well known.

Evanston YAMO alumni will be performing in their own variety show to help raise money for the performing arts program at ETHS. Showcase ETHS! A tribute to YAMO’s 60th will be a chance for alums to show off their talents as performers. Alumni from all six decades of YAMO will be able to perform. Among the returning Evanstonians is Tony Award winner, Jessie Mueller.

“[The show] is a combination of kind of retrospective on 60 years of YAMO,” producer Carolyn Broughton says.

According to Broughton, she was surprised many alums wanted to come back for this show. Broughton didn’t expect it to be turn into something as big as it is.

“I sent an invitation to Jessie Mueller, and I was amazed she accepted. From there other notable YAMO alums said yes and before we knew it we had this show,” explains Broughton.

The show runs on Oct. 15, at 1:30 p.m. only, and will be shown in the ETHS Auditorium. More information and ticket purchases for this show can be found in the Facebook group “Showcase ETHS! A tribute to YAMO’s 60th”, and on the ETHS theatre website www.ethstheatre.com.
